Chandelier crystals can be hung with any type of metal clip or part as well as wire. Ribbon or fishing line can also be used if the chandelier doesn't have any holes. Another option is to use chandelier crystals with magnets. 

We always tell our customers to measure what can't be changed. You can always add more crystal octagons or beads to your crystals to make them overall appear longer, but that doesn't change the main hanging crystal prism. That piece will stay the same size, so you would only measure that piece when trying to match crystals with a existing piece.
